IMPACT REPORT

A NOTE

FROM ADRIANE

Throughout Juma's 30 year history, every year has had elements of innovation, change and growth — and 2023 was no exception. Juma seeks to serve youth who have faced structural barriers — including bias — to succeeding in advancing in career pathways. This past year we were able to deepen our services to serve such youth, and continued to increase our impact. This work was guided by our strategic roadmap, launched in mid-2023 and the first strategy review we'd undertaken since 2017.

We were so grateful to celebrate our 30 years of accomplishment with community members — including many founding staff members and founding youth participants — at our 30th Anniversary Gala in October 2023. In addition, our Seattle Site celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Whether you joined us in person last year, or wished us well from afar — thank you for being part of our 30 years of impact.

2023 Highlights

As part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, we documented stories of outstanding Juma youth and alumni like Gilberto. Gilberto left his home and parents in Mexico in order to finish his high school education in the U.S. Today, he attends Stanford University where he's working toward a degree in computer science. Read more of Gilberto's story here and hear more stories from Juma youth and alumni here.
