Makers4Good x Juma produce innovative bag design for youth ballpark vendors

As many of you know, innovation is part of Juma’s fabric and a goal we consistently strive towards within our social enterprise and beyond. In addition to innovation, we are committed to the well-being of our youth and making sure that they have the best possible first-job experiences that we can provide. Holding these values close, we partnered with Makers4Good, an organization that connects engineers, product designers, and makers with philanthropic projects like ours, with the objective to improve our youth’s vending gear to make their job both easier and safer to perform.

Our youth vendors work hard at ballparks across the country, selling ice cream, corn dogs, ice tea, and coffee among other products. It is hard work, climbing stadium stairs with big bags full of product for several hours at a time.

Through the generosity of Makers4Good, we have teamed up with Alite Designs who is working on a backpack design that will make vending easier and more comfortable for our youth; an ergonomic design that better fits our youth’s needs. We are thrilled about this new backpack as it will help to improve the job experience and possibly even the product sales of hundreds of low-income youth across the country.
