Abdiel Cerrud

Chief Development Officer

As a youth advocate, especially those from underserved and marginalized communities of color, Abdiel Cerrud has dedicated his career to the nonprofit sector working on a wide array of youth-focused issues including leadership development, literacy, college access and success, and most recently workforce development and financial capability education.

Abdiel joined Juma in 2013 and throughout this time has served in increasingly impactful capacities both in youth service as well as fund development. Roles include Program Manager, Institutional Giving Manager, Associate Director of Institutional Giving, San Francisco Bay Area Director of Development, and most recently, Chief Development Officer. 

Prior to joining Juma, Abdiel worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of America where he served in various leadership roles including Area Director, Director of Literacy Initiatives, and Program Director. Abdiel was born in Panama, grew up in Portland, Oregon, and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies from Portland State University and a Master’s Degree in Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco. He currently resides in Oakland with his husband.
