Lainie Farmer

Seattle Site Director

With a decade of experience in youth development, including work in transitional living programs for youth experiencing homelessness, Lainie is deeply committed to building strong, supportive communities. She believes that by connecting young people to meaningful opportunities and experiences, they will be empowered to contribute to and strengthen their communities in the future.

Lainie joined Juma in 2018 and has since held various roles, including Career Coach and Recruitment and Partnerships Manager. As Site Director, she currently oversees the success of Juma’s social enterprise and program operations in Seattle. During her time at Juma, she has cultivated valuable relationships with King County’s educational institutions and other youth-focused community-based organizations and nonprofits.

Lainie holds a Bachelor’s Degree in the Comparative History of Ideas from the University of Washington and a Master’s Degree in Urban Environmental Education from Antioch University. She resides in North Seattle.
